The cattle were the concept and design of the innovative artist Alan Potter and were cast, fitted and engineered at our iron foundry in Scotland.

Standing at 1.5 metres tall, 2.5 metres long and weighing in at nearly 1 tonne each these magnificent sculptures are as striking and imposing as they are intrinsically Scottish and beautiful.

Welcome to Ballantine Castings Ltd.

Ballantine Castings Ltd. is the UK's foremost producer of high quality, high integrity iron castings to the architectural, engineering and construction sectors from 1kg - 3 tonnes. 

We operate two 3 tonne induction furnaces capable of melting 12 tonnes of iron per day in order to meet demand. Our Company maintains the highest standards of production and quality by using premium raw materials giving our customers quality without compromise. We offer castings in Spheroidal Graphite, Grey Irons, Ni Resistant or Austenitic Irons, high chromium irons and offer castings is aluminium up to 500kg.

Our jobbing (semi-repetition) 4 individual moulding spheres mean that we are able to simultaneously service a number of industry sectors to the highest standards. We offer traditional greensand moulding, a medium-high volume airset plant, a medium/high volume airset plant and a specialist section for heavy casting services up to 3 tonnes. 

Our large, traditional pattern shop makes fully PPAP approved patterns for the above sectors giving the Company the foundations for seamless production. We also have the UK's largest collection of patterns with over 100,000 designs to our name.
