We own and operate an Engineering Company who specialise in the structural fitting of cast iron projects. We carry out everything from initial site surveys and the production of method statements and risk assessments to the final fabrication and fitting of the structure. We are as proficient working on site as we are in our own workshop (all our site engineers are CSCS card holders.)
Over the years this has included everything from bridges and bandstands to kilometres of railings over undulating land or 16 metre palatial gates in the Middle East. It is this depth of experience that has proved invaluable in so many projects over the years. In addition to our expertise working with cast iron products we are also able to carry out steel fabrications, structural steelwork, machining and pipe work. For this reason we are exclusively placed to offer a comprehensive metalwork service for all restoration, new build and civil projects be they in wrought iron, cast iron or steel, from manufacture to erection.
Please view the photographs for examples of shop fitting and the structural steelwork we can produce. Also, please see the case studies section to see completed engineering projects incorporating cast iron such as Abbey Bridge and The John Osborne Glasshouse.
The key element of our engineering pedigree is the production of over 7000 different castings for the railway industry. We specialise in providing castings for the maintenance and project driven railway switches and crossings – some of which require up to 250 individual castings. Our in house pattern making, moulding and dressing skills are imperative in this work as Network Rail operate very strict tolerances so castings have to be within +/-1 millimetre to pass their quality tests. These castings are also made in a variety of metal specifications (metallurgy) depending on their application.
