Kelvingrove Park Fountain

As often happens in cities the original cast-iron statue of ‘boy with paddle’ had disappeared from the majestic Kelvingrove Park fountain, arguably one of the most visually stunning structures on the West Coast. Luckily there was an identical statue on the McFarlane drinking fountain at the entrance of Alexandra Park in Glasgow.

We were allowed to remove it and in order to mould replicas the pattern shop had to create over 30 core boxes and drawbacks. The moulder’s skills also had to be of the highest calibre to ensure the difference between the new and the old castings was negligible. When one compares the original to the newly cast cherubs it is truly hard to tell one from the other. These beautiful cherubs can be bought as garden ornaments or statues; please call us with any enquiry.
